Welcome all incoming Lower Sixth students. This page is to get you oriented with Careers Section and how we can help you in your journey to use your education to get to your desired or possible career.
It's time to retire pinky_xoxo and vampy_247!
We strongly recommend having a professional email address that you can use throughout your time at PTEM and beyond. Your email address is often one of the first things people see when you contact universities, scholarship providers or potential employers, so make a good first impression.
Already have a professional email address that includes your name or initials? Great! You can keep using it — there's no need to create another one.
Keep it simple, clear and easy to recognise. Common formats include:
First name and surname: johnsmith@gmail.com
First name and surname initial: johns@gmail.com
First initial and surname: jsmith@gmail.com
If your preferred address is already taken, try a variation using your initials or a number that is appropriate and professional.
We recommend Gmail because the Careers Section uses Google tools for many of its resources and activities. A Gmail account also gives you access to useful Google services.
Think long-term: Choose an address you'll still feel comfortable using when applying to university, scholarships and jobs. Your email address should grow with you!
Your task: Set up your Gmail and make it a habit to check it.

CES (Career Education Syllabus) is your personal career development journey at PTEM.
It helps you explore your options, identify your strengths and interests, plan your next steps and put those plans into action.
Your CES logbook is where you record your exploration, experiences, skills, achievements and plans throughout sixth form.
Want to know more? You can find more information about CES at the bottom of this page or visit our CES page (Click here).
Your task: Read through the CES resources and start using your CES logbook.
Deadline for all FIVE tasks (including the CES 3.0 as below) is 2nd March 2026. If you can finish it now, even better! 😀
These tasks are important. The Careers Section shares opportunities such as overseas programmes, scholarships, university events and attachments through our official communication channels.
If you haven't joined these channels or completed the required tasks, you may miss announcements and opportunities simply because the information never reaches you.
It's your responsibility to stay connected, keep your information updated and take action when opportunities arise. We can help you explore your options, but you need to take the first step!
Now that you've got the basics sorted, it's time to start exploring your options and planning for life after A-Levels.
To get the most out of CES, you should begin exploring your future options early and keep track of your progress throughout sixth form.
Start by:
Exploring your options — Research university courses, institutions and possible career pathways that interest you.
Understanding the requirements — Find out about entry requirements, including grades, required subjects and any admissions tests.
Thinking about your future — Consider the careers you might want to pursue and explore different pathways that could lead you there.
Developing yourself — Look for opportunities to build your skills, gain experience and learn beyond the classroom.
Want to know more? You can find more information about CES by reading through the overview below or visit our CES page (Click here).
Not sure where to start? Here are some useful places to begin.
Study in Brunei — Explore local universities, colleges and other higher education pathways.
Study Overseas — Discover universities, courses and opportunities to study abroad.
Scholarships & Loans — Find out about available funding opportunities and their requirements.
You don't need to make every decision right now. Start exploring, keep track of what you learn and take the next step when you're ready.
