Studying in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a wonderful destination for further study. It is a bustling city with a robust, world-class education system, and it is also an affordable option for students who seek to self-fund. Top students will be eligible for merit scholarships which provide full tuition and an allowance, both from the university and from the HK government.

1) Overview

Application process: Students normally apply directly to the university.
Tuition fees: the tuition fees are affordable only if you manage to get a scholarship. It could cut down costs from approximately HKD160,000 (BND27,000) to HKD0 (BND0) as long as you maintain your GPA.
Living expenses: around HKD100,000 (BND17,000) a year, but with a merit scholarship you can get up to HKD80,000 (BND0) SGD13,000 from the university each year. See the cost of living in more detail here.
Entry requirements: University places are very competitive, especially at HKUST and HKU. HKBU, CityU and PolyU are top-tier universities but they place more emphasis on the interview.
You can apply to work in Hong Kong as long as you apply within six months of graduation. You have up to 24 months to stay and find a job. More details here.

Note: It is easier to apply for a scholarship if you applied earlier

With minimum grades of EEE, you can get the opportunity to study at this prestigious institution. However, you won't be eligible for a scholarship with this grade. BBB and above will be more eligible, provided you get through the interview
