Please talk to our admissions officers during open day when you have your results. It is important to score as high grades as possible to ensure smooth entry into sixth form and to be able to select your prefered A-Level subjects.

Based on our understanding from MOE, BTEC certificates are worth 2 O-level subjects and by right you may enter sixth form with your certificate and 3 other O-level subjects. But, as we have mentioned, being eligible to enter sixth form doesn’t mean you can take any subject you want. Your choice of subjects will be very limited.

If you are yellow I.C. and meet entry requirements, then you are automatically on scholarship to study in PTEM with minimal yearly school fees

Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics.

Most banks require minimum a degree in almost any subject, and the fastest way to get one is via A-levels. Banks would usually hire those in related fields like finance, business administration, accounting and so on. But they do accept other degrees too especially sciences or mathematics.

We would recommend Accounting, Mathematics & Business or Economics but for specific requirements you would have to check with the individual universities in Australia.

Perfect for Clinical Psychologist

You will have limited options in the medical or science field e.g. Radiologist which does not always have a job opening. This is because you lack chemistry as the supporting subject for the other science. But you can still do most humanity degrees with those subjects because you have maths and two sciences.

You are advised to take English writing-based subjects. Not taking maths and sciences is fine.

It depends on what you want to teach, but you will have to obtain a degree and then a master of teaching, and higher institutions, they are looking for people with a PHD.

If you take A-levels to become a pilot (at RB), 

• you need at least 4 O-levels grade C and above for English, Malay, Mathematics and a Science subject.

• you need to score at least grades B in one A-Level Science subject (preferably Physics) and Mathematics.

• A good subject to combine with these two subjects is Geography (but not necessary)

• There are also other requirements to consider such as height, BMI, medical fitness and ability to swim.

Unfortunately no, you need pure sciences and maths in O-level. If you are taking Maths IGCSE core, you can’t either. 

We would recommend taking Art, Business and Media studies. But please do your own research on current market conditions for comic-maker or artist as there are no official routes towards that career path.

Nowadays getting a scholarship is hard, the minimum is BBB but there is a lot of competition so a BBB might not be enough. You also need to be active in extra-curricular activities and have good soft skills 

In PTEM, we have tutors who are willing and capable of teaching you the skills you need, it’s just a matter of whether you take that opportunity and put in the effort to learn

Yes, that is a perfectly good subject combination for nursing

Yes, you can.

You must be strong in sciences, but be prepared to work abroad because that job is currently unavailable here. 

Law comes to mind but there are plenty of other options 

Islamic Finance course at UNISSA is an option. You can also get a degree in most courses at UBD & UTB too.

Social sciences are a group of academic disciplines dedicated to examining society. This branch of science studies how people interact with each other, behave, develop as a culture, and influence the world. In PTEM, these subjects include but not limited to Economics, Psychology and Sociology
