Welcome all incoming Lower Sixth students. This page is to get you oriented with Careers Section and how we can help you in your journey to use your education to get to your desired or possible career.
If you do not do these following tasks, you will be sabotaging yourself because you will not be on our radar for future opportunities (programmes abroad, scholarships & attachments etc.)
We insist you create a professional e-mail account. Besides, you won't be able to use your official school email forever. It is time to move on from your childish email name, some of which we have encountered something along the lines of pinky_xoxo or vampy_247. If you're one of them its time to get a grown up email.
If you have a professional email that includes your name or initials already then thats great and you don't have to do this activity.
We do recommend a Gmail account as the Careers Section uses Google as its underlying digital systems and it is also widely used. You will then have access to plenty of super useful Google products too! (Disclaimer: we are just a Google Fan, nothing more)
Note: This email should be used throughout your time here in PTEM and probably beyond as well so think wisely.
If you need tips on creating a professional-looking email:
The standard when devising a professional email address, is to create them using common formats:
First name + domain (john@domain.com) ...
First name + surname initial + domain (johnd@domain.com) ...
First name initial + surname + domain (jdoe@domain.com) ...
Full name + domain (johndoe@domain.com)
But don't I already have my school email?
Note that you will not have access to your school email account forever. You also don't want to be forever associated with yourname@student.ptemeragang.edu.moe.bn when you leave university and when you start applying for work! So yeah, make a new one if you don't already have a professional gmail account. The Careers Section can only help with your personal statements in the future via Google Classroom and many of your tutors will also be using Google Classroom so it is definitely a must to have a gmail account.

This is compulsory.
Your deadline is 5th March 2026 but the earlier you can do this, the better it is for you as you will have a clearer picture of what grades you need to achieve in order to get into your desired university.

Deadline for all FIVE tasks (including the CES 3.0 as below) is 2nd March 2026. If you can finish it now, even better! 😀
You should do the following:
Research specific university course you are going to pursue (including the university or universities)
Note down grade requirements to pursue that course
Consider possible future career(s). Ask yourself if it is realistic or not. If not, find a realistic one.
Consistently develop your skill set and gain experience for the next two years.
Note: The above information is required for you to fill in our compulsory student profile form. This student profile form will help us in the Careers Section to give you the best possible advice and related-services and programmes.
You also need to fill in the Careers Exploration Spreadsheet in Google Classroom, where you will have your own copy, and update this spreadsheet regularly.
